Automatic Doors - Are you DDA compliant?

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires those responsible for buildings to make some provision for disabled access into the building. To meet this requirement, Ansador Ltd offers a full range of operators for automatic doors which can be fitted onto new or existing doors.
The LCN automatic door range offers a rather unique feature of being operated by compressed air and can be adjusted during opening and closing. This means that a door that would normally be too heavy for somebody to operate can be made to feel very light to the touch as compressed air would assist the unit when opening.
The range of GEZE automatic doors offer various sizes to suit almost any application. Care needs to be taken when specifying the usage of the door and the direction of opening etc. These units can be linked to an access control system such as a card reader, keypad, or intercom so when the visitor arrives the door will not only unlock but automatically open and re-close.
Alternatively the unit can be set to fully automatic so will open and close the door on whatever basis is required. The units can also be set to open on impulse from a fire alarm activation and stay open if necessary to assist in ventilation and evacuation procedures.
The systems need to be set up in accordance with BS7036 to ensure they are correctly specified for the purpose and are fitted with the appropriate safety circuits. These can include hinge guards to stop fingers getting caught, presence detectors, and a variety of other safeguards.

Turnstile Access Control

Controlling access into any building where the area is unguarded
can be difficult. Even with access control on a door it is possible
for somebody to ‘Tailgate’ so undermining the security systems.

Turnstiles UK
_
Turnstiles UK It is possible to impose
greater securtiy and control
by installing turnstile
access control at the
main entry points into a
building. These can take
the form of mid height,
full height or even monitored
versions for monitoring
anti-pass-back routines.
Ansador prides itself in
having installed many
such systems in London
and the home counties
over the last few years.

Controlling access into the main or rear entrance of a building is
key to providing a secure environment.
Choosing the correct and most appropriate turnstile can be
difficult. Ansador will provide you with advice to ensure
the correct choice of turnstile. Here are a few questions
and pointers to choosing the best and most effective type of
turnstile.
  • How many people use the building? As a rough guide you
can assume one lane will handle about 150 to 200 people
assuming they are set up to be bi-directional.

  • You can choose from tripod style, drop arm type,
swing gate, pass agate in both stainless steel, glass or even mid
steel.

    • What sort of environment is It.? If it’s a construction site
then we suggest the more functional trip type in a powdered
    coated finish.

    • Would you like the turnstiles to fail to an open position on
    a fire alarm activation?
      •  How do you want the them to operate? Usually by card,
or even finger print recognition. http://www.ansador.co.uk/
        card_access_door_systems.asp?category=Card%20Access&
        subcategory=Door%20Systems

        • Would you like to be alerted if somebody tries to tailgate
        through the turnstile?
Some of the systems offer this feature and can provide an impulse
to an local alarm, CCTV camera or pager perhaps.

          • Would you like reception to be able override the system with a
          remote push button?
Our technical surveyors will provide advice on the most
appropriate type of model to choose from for your particular
            application. Call 0207 228 7777 for a site survey

Audio Over IP (VoIP) - Door Intercom Systems
Telephone Linked Intercomm - Door Intercom Systems
Door Intercom systems are now considered by many as an
essential part for any development of offices or flats in the
U.K. Having an open door policy for all is often thought to
invite the wrong type of attention to a building. Audio systems
can consist of an intercom panel at the front door which is
connected to a door phone in the office o flat upstairs with
an electric lock. The panels can be provided from the Aiphone
or LT ranges and are available in SAA, polished brass and
a wide range of colours. Lkewise, the door phones are
available in different colours and can be table or wall mounted.
Our technical representatives will often work closely with the
local crime prevention officer to ensure the design of the system
is not only offering security but also an effective deterrent.

A Video Intercom System will allow the owner not only
to see the visitor but also talk to them. The LT Terraneo
and Aiphone ranges offer the very latest in design and features.
The high quality screens offer a clear image of the visitor
standing outside with the assistance of miniature infra-red
lighting around the built in camera at the front door. The
outside intercom panels are available in many colours and
can be flush mounted. The new telephone linked systems
offer the unique feature of allowing your visitor to contact
you from the front door via your standard BT phone.

Access Control with Time and Attendence

As Siemens partners we are pleased to offer the integration of access control with time and attendance with the new Thinking Software. This unique product allows the clients’ access control system to be integrated with access control which allows the staff to use their card or key fob access into the building as well as recording their time of entry and exit.

            In brief
The standard Entro and Granta illustrated elsewhere on this site provides clients with basic time recording. This will record times of entry and exit and provide a summary of the staff members working hours together with a total for the number of hours worked by staff member or software department. This software works in conjunction with the ‘Granta ‘and ‘Entro’ access control system to provide a more in depth report as shown below.

            Snow Hill City of London

Beaumont Business centers knowing a good thing when they see it chose Ansador Ltd to supply and install the latest wireless card access system. Beaumont one of the most successful office providers in the quality end of the office rental market needed a system that would provide 4 main advantages.

            • It had to be in a top quality stainless steel finish to match the fixtures and fittings.

            • It had to provide full access control with audit trail.

            • It had to use the latest Mifare technology from Phillips

            • It had to work with no wires or wifi.It had to work on the latest virtual network using the card as the source of all information.

The system incorporates a card reader into the door handle and allows doors and frames to be moved by the office provider to match clients requirements at short notice with none of the inconvenience of traditional wired systems.

With over a 100 doors and fabulous facilities the Centre has proved itself popular with near capacity bookings almost as soon as it opened. The residents can be confident that the building is highly secure and able to change quickly to changing office space requirements.
